8KOunt is a hard-driving modern rock band based out of Ohio. Founded by vocalist “Sugar” James Sayer, the current lineup features Robby D’Lor (Bass), Rob Ravage (Drums), Jeff Eller and Stefan Lowe (Guitar). The band has already shared the stage with the likes of Sick Puppies, Saliva, Shinedown, and Tantric; proving their live bona fides in front of screaming audiences. The band has also scored international attention in publications such as Metal Edge, Hit Parader and Concrete Corner as well as Fuse television.
Early on, Sayer came up with the phrase “Big Rock” to describe the band’s sound and musical direction. If you think about the legends of rock: bands like Zeppelin, Aerosmith, U2, Metallica, NIN: all very different bands with one commonality a passion for what they do and the ability to make you buy whatever it is they’re selling. 8KOunt is no different. They want you to believe in them, their music, and their ability to deliver the goods every time they take the stage.
8KOunt’s latest release, Getaway Car delivers solid songwriting and an ample supply of both rock and pop sensibilities. Even a casual listen to songs like Ashes to Ashes, Fight and Getaway Car and you get the sense that this band is going places: to rock radio, to music television, and if you’re lucky, to a venue in your zip code.
